Background
Sydney Thiam is a Senior Venture Builder at Catalyst Fund, the early-stage VC fund and venture builder investing in a climate-resilient future for Africa, where he helps portfolio companies scale from product to capital raise. A former founder and operator, he has built and led teams across more than ten markets. Before Catalyst Fund, Sydney led multi-country expansion at Kenyan logistics scale-up Sendy as Head of Expansion and VP of SendyGo, owning the P&L of commercial teams across four African markets. Earlier, he held strategic planning roles at Sid Lee and FCB, shaping campaigns for global automotive, retail, telco and gaming brands.
